Taking a table at a TaleRow festival

Our festivals are open to authors across genres, with a limited number of tables in each so that no one is drowned out. Our first event is in Market Harborough on Saturday 13 February 2027, with tables at £40.

How it works

  1. Apply online. Choose the festival on our Apply for a table page and complete the short application form. The same form is used by authors and bookish traders.
  2. We review your application. We read every application personally and reply to you. If we can offer you a table, we email you a secure payment link.
  3. Pay to confirm your place. The table fee is £40 (a 6ft table with 2 chairs). Your place is confirmed once your payment is received.
  4. You get your own TaleRow page. Authors registered for an event can list their books in our bookstore, on a page that introduces you and your work.
  5. Readers reserve books to collect. Readers can buy your books in advance and collect them from your table at the event. They can ask for a book to be signed. Reservations for each event close at 12 noon the day before.
  6. You bring the books and meet your readers. We will let you know when readers reserve books from your page, so you know what to bring.

What we ask of authors

  • Bring a tablecloth for your table. We provide a 6ft table and 2 chairs.
  • Bring enough copies of your books to cover the reservations made through your page.
  • Provide your own public liability insurance details before the event.
  • Let us know about any access or set-up needs when you apply, so we can plan for them.
